Online Writing Journal (OW)

Welcome!

1/6/2011

If you're new to this class, you might be wondering about its content, essentially what you'll learn. English 900 is the second of three English courses that prepares you for transfer-level work.  You'll learn about grammatical concepts and how to apply them in your writing. You'll write papers, edit them, and revise them.  You'll read a variety of essays on college cultures, some that will resonate with your experience and some that will introduce you to new ideologies. Those essays from College Culture, Student Success will not only be used in your Writing Journal but also in your essays, so consider this journal a pre-writing exercise to generate ideas for your essays.  Another perk of this class is meeting wonderful classmates who will enrich your life with their unique perspectives.  Research shows that befriending someone in a class increases one's chance of succeeding in the class, so don't be shy. Meet someone, and share a fabulous experience like no other in English 900!
